GrassProtecta™ grass reinforcement mesh is a thick plastic mesh supplied on a roll that is installed directly onto existing grass to protetct, reinforce and stabilize the grass against damage caused by traffic (pedestrians and vehicles). Grass protection mesh protects grass that is prone to wear, rutting and muddy surfaces. GrassProtecta™ reinforces the grass for vehicle traffic (car & trucks) or for pedestrian paths and walkways. Boddingtons Inc's GrassProtecta™ plastic mesh reinforcement has an oscillated mesh structure which is designed to increase grip and reducing slip. GrassProtecta™ is a cost effective solution for :

GrassProtecta™ grass protection mesh is supplied on 6.56ft x 65.6ft & 3.28ft x 32.8ft rolls in two thicknesses 0.55 & 0.45 inches. The grass stabilization mesh is manufactured from high density polyethylene with about 20% of the polymer being from recycled materials and is fully recyclable.

GrassProtecta™ is very easy tio install; After cutting the grass short,  unroll the grass protection mesh roll and secure to the existing grass surface using metal U-pins or plastic fixing pegs. GrassProtecta™ grass stabilzer mesh™ allows the grass to grow through the plastic mesh holes ensuring the grass roots / blades intertwine with the plastic mesh strands creating a strong stabilzed grassed surface capable of withstanding vehicle loads, limiting damage and reducing soil compaction resulting in a natural grass reinforcement solution with invisible structures on the surface. GrassProtecta™ can also be installed onto newly landscaped areas with the soil seeded as required. Boddingtons Inc. recommend that GrassProtecta™ turf protection mesh remains unused until the grass has grown through the plastic net apertures. This may take a few months (up to 8 months) depending on the season and your geographic location and allows the grass to fully grow through the mesh resulting in the grass blade / roots creating a strong interlock with the mesh strands. If the surface is used immediately grass growth may take a longer period of time and may limit the effectiveness of the mesh at reinforcing the surface.

Fixing Pins / Pegs

Steel fixing U-Pins should be used to secure GrassProtecta™ to the ground. Please download the design specification on the tab at the top of the page for details on the recommended amount of pins per roll.

GrassProtecta™ can be used in source control applications in accordance with LID & NPDES guidelines for water management and is the perfect alternative to impermeable paved surfaces where natural grassed traffic routes and driveways are preferred and where planning restrictions are applied or cost savings are being considered.

Please note that with all plastic products, the product can become slippery on damp or wet conditions if used before any grass has grown.
